Oprah Goes to the YFZ Ranch - Airs Monday March 30, 2009
Folks - This would probably be a good one to tune in to and I would love feedback from the show. Years ago Oprah interviewed Alex Joseph and it was a pretty positive show. Seems like about 2 years ago she did a show where Lisa Ling went to the FLDS town of Colorado City and did an interview. Some of the show was hyped up a bit as they had Carolyn Jessop there, and I can well imagine no one wanted to talk to her. Even at that, Lisa Ling had a great after show interview with a group of teens and you could tell she was surprised.

Very informative
Very informative show.Augustine taught that the reason why patriarchs had many wives was not because of fornication but because they wanted more children. He proved it by showing that their marriages, in which husband was a head, were arranged according to the rules of good management: those who are in command (quae principantur) in the society are always singular, while subordinates (subiecta) are multiple.
Luckily I saw the interview
Luckily I saw the interview and found it very much interesting. Oprah's show undoubtedly world's best show. Here she can discover the inner part of a person.

OPRAH SHOW
The test of whether or not the show was good as far as the FLDS was concerned can be found in the negative comments from Brooke's blog all the way to TBMs.
Texas hated the show, which made it very valuable in regards to showing the world that polygamists are actually human beings.
Shortly, National Geographic will run a 48 page spread on the FLDS, both in America and Canada.
Whether the Shirtleff's of this world like it or not, polygamy will be as recognized a community as the Amish, the Mennonite's and the Orthodox Jews.
It is not a cult or a sect, it is a community that cannot be ignored or persecuted any longer, the leadership of the FLDS and their supporters will MAKE IT SO.
The attack on the Ranch was NEVER about child abuse, it was about persecution. The Country is finally waking up to that fact.
five by five
Five by five there Bill...your comments are 100% correct.
As I have said on other sites....LET THE LAWSUITS BEGIN!
The BBB's in Texas (Backward Bumbling Bigots) need to PAY BIG. I want to see them billed and fiscally bled for the murder of the US Constitution that occurred in TX.
I would HOPE that the FLDS open up a little. I know that WHEN plural marriage is decriminalized, it might just happen.
GO CANADA! I hope they beat us to this. It is clear they are not as populated with the BBB that we have here.
Give Texas back to Mexico! The drug lords would love new territory.
INFORMATIVE
This show was quite informative. My perception is that the FLDS is a completely different sub-culture. They obviously place far greater value on their religious faith and values than do most.
It is a good show.
recording
I will record this.
