About the latest poll

I was amazed when I saw the number of votes in the latest poll reflecting no clear opinion even in weather the recent raids on the FLDS were constitutional or not, and totally saddened by the number of people that thought they were.
I would suggest that such readers of this site (especially Christians) check out a bit of history and re evaluate their perspective.
I try to keep a Biblical world view myself and I know of no place in scripture that authorizes removal of children from even abusive parents. But I can find scriptures about KIDNAPPING.
So perhaps we could discuss this a bit.
FYI this site has a lot of relevant info.

I'm Not Amazed, I'm Saddened

I am saddened that so many Americans have no idea what their constitutional rights. It isn't hard to take away someone's rights when they are oblivious to them. American's seem to value security more than freedom. In my opinion, security is worthless unless one is free. I do see a ray of hope that the polls show a 64% to 29% vote saying the raid was unconstitutional. Like I always say, "In all things, choose wisely". I for one will choose freedom.

In all things, choose wisely.

I just wonder which country

I just wonder which country the folks who voted these raids were constitutional think they live in? Constitutional, under what constitution? Perhaps it will be necessary in the near future to post a copy of the united states of America's constitution, so these misinformed individuals can study it and perhaps find out what it means to be an american. I am speechless, so will say no more.

Agree

J ~ I am in total agreement with you over the surprise of 37% of our fellow readers either think the raid was constitutional or are unsure.

I would hope the 30% don't belong to any group who may come under government scrutiny in the future and them loose their children, then be requested to pay for the "raid" and the ensuing "daycare"

And better yet, on a hoax phone call from a mentally ill woman.

Anyone with any sort of a temple or house of worship should be worried as well.

Surprise about constitutional rights?

I am not at all surprised. Sad, worried yes, but not surprised. When a bunch of Americans are interviewed and asked when the July 4th will be celebrated and they respond with: "I don't know" then nothing really surprises me anymore.
