Thanks for participating in the Survey!! Interview Participants Needed
Hello!
I am currently a student enrolled in business management courses at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. This quarter, I am required to write a 15 page paper on a selected topic through research, surveys and interviews.
THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE PARTICIPATED!! :) Because of you I will have creditable sources of information for this paper.
My survey is currently closed as to tabulate data and start writing the paper, but, if you'd like to participate, I can still send questions via e-mail in interview (not survey) format.
If this is something you would like to do, answer interview questions concerning beliefs of polygamy and your family, then please contact at student32010@ymail.com. All interest is welcome and appreciated.
My purpose for the research paper is to shed a positive and full light on the topic.
Be sure to know that the interview can be anonymously conducted via e-mail or over the phone.
Thank you.

Feeling small
Well I have taken the survey and the interview I must say that this lady is very objective and unbiased. She seems to be open to all points of view and have an honest desire to understand and learn. I am very sorry for my critical comments. One day I might learn to be more understanding of others before making critical comments. I am getting better, feet and crow don't taste very good and I like to try and keep from eating either.
Student:
Thank you for taking the time to study this subject and choosing to not be offended by my comments but rather explain yourself. I ask and hope that you will forgive my arrogance.

No Worries :)
John,
Thanks for the kind words and for your participation, it is greatly appreciated!
No worries concerning anything written or otherwise as I am sure you have lots of "outsiders" coming in with poor intentions.
I can't wait to dig in to the reading available and start writing my paper.
So many people I have never met have reached out and participated in the survey and have volunteered for the interview allowing me insight into their lives, thank you.
I have to share that my friends, family, administration and instructors are eagerly anticipating the finished paper and survey/interview results.
Cheers!
Welcome
Student
Thank you for dropping in and engaging. I've yet to take the survey but I will when I have a few minutes. One of my daughters just graduated in Psych and she'll love to see this.
Feel free to go through the forums, post, respond, etc.
Also, as far as study material, under "documents" on the top of the page is a lot of good reading.
Jesus Was Married, Polygamy In The Bible, etc. All are free to download.
Cheers!

Thank you
Thanks for the welcome :)
I have looked around some but will diffinetly take the time to go through the "documents" section.
Thanks for taking the survey and for passing the info onto your daughter. I would be interested in anything you all had to contribute.
Also, I have to say that the survey is surving two purposes, the research paper and a statistics class so I have to ask a lot more quantitative questions than I would have liked for the research paper. At the time of writing the survey, it was geared towards non-polygamists. I was trying to pull info to show that a polygamist lifestyle of multiple spouces would benefit the whole family.
If you feel that the survey doesn't delve into Polygamy deep enough, I do have some interview questions that I can send via e-mail.
Thanks agiang for the wlecome and taking the survey I very much appriciate it :)
Age
Its kind of buggy to only have one age slot for women when you're surveying polygamists. You restricted the field so we cant even put one age comma the next.
What does a fashion institute have to do with this anyway?
responce to "age"
The survey shouldn't have been restricted concerning inputting your age. The question concerning age and sex refers only to the person answering the questions. Is there a different question you wanted to enter in age?
Thank you for attempting the survey, I hope you can re-take it once we clear up what is wrong and you're able to input the information you'd like to give.
Concerning attending a Fashion School, I originally received a degree in product development from the school and when they opened the bachelors program it was easiest to just return to the school and finish up my last two years and earn a B.S. in Business Management. This class, Issues in Contemporary Society, is a class to address the issues we will come across as we enter the business world, how our world is evolving. I have found an interest in Polygamy through Big Love and have done minor research since the beginning of the show. I thought that this paper would be a way to obtain answers and different points of view while exposing my peers to a new topic they may not have been exposed to before.
Thanks for you time!
I agree
"What does a fashion institute have to do with this anyway?"
Maybe the fashion industry wants to start making items for polygymists. Could yo imagine the scandle of a man walking down the runnway of a LA fasion show with a woman on each side of him....
...um oh yeah they already do that don't they
reply to "I agree"
I hope my reply to the 1st post helped you to understand but please let me know if there is anything else I can share :)
Questions like these show a
Questions like these show a lack of understanding of sound family economics and needs vs. wants. For instance health benefits are a want; no one is going to die directly from not having health benefits. People may chose to work for health benefits because they like/want the security that comes from having those health benefits. Many people make choices between health benefits and staying home and raising and taking care of there children themselves but that is a choice.
That was really a weird survey. Didn't even seem to have much to do with polygamy until the last question. Other questions seemed to show a lack of sound understandings of truthful and eternal laws and principals but a submissiveness to the political rhetoric that the American society has fallen victim to
Reply to "questions..."
Thanks for you post :)
First, concerning the survey questions, I had to waist at least 5 questions to requirements of my class, I had to have at least 5 qualitative questions and 5 quantitative questions. I would have much preferred to have the majority of my questions being of a qualitative.
Second, I geared the survey more towards non-polygamists. At the time, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to reach polygamists to survey. I needed to extract enough information to the fact that it takes a network or village to raise a family but polygamy doesn't seem to be an option in most peoples minds. I wanted to know why that was.
Third, I purposely did not want those being surveyed to perceive the questions were anything to do with polygamy as they might answer questions differently. With the "other" option with the example of working for benefits, I have a few friends that work not because they want to or the money helps their family but because the cost of health benefits is too expensive to pay for them, therefore they work to receive the benefits and pay for a sitter (most work minimum hours). My point with that option was another stance to take in my paper that people (especially in California) have to forgo a mother (or father) raising there children for health, where if the family contained multiple spouses this wouldn't be the case.
And forth, I confess my ignorance of the "eternal laws and principles" concerning polygamy as I have not yet read the literature available through this site or others like it.
I am more than open to hear/read anything anyone would have to say concerning the topic as I am genuinely interested, paper or not.
Thanks for your time :)
apology
I figured that I messed up enough that I had better post this a second time.
