Fruit eating and polygamy in Birds of Paradise

Here's a link to the Birds of Paradise study. The observation is that polygamy amoungst birds is associated with fruit-eating, and those species(such as the bird of paradise) who are polygamous, eat a wider variety of fruits than monogamous species, who tend to be more specialised.
