Some questions I have
Hello everyone!
I'm young (African American in my 20's) and I've been thinking for quite some time about being in a polygamist family. I have no husband yet....hell, I'm not even dating but I would love to share my husband with someone. There are a few questions I have though. I've listed a few below.
1. What's the difference between being a polygamist and having an open-marriage?
2. Is there lots of jealousy?
3. Can I go to jail for it?
4. Sex! I was wondering how do some of you work out the sex situation.
5. Do husbands have a favorite wife?
6. How do your relatives take it?
7. Is it hard to find african american women who would want to join a polygamist family?
Anything else you would care to tell me?

Hello Maria
The issues with a polygamist family are like in any other family. However, I have found (being a Christian polygamist) that the best way to approach the entire adventure is by making God the sole focus of all parties. Where people may have favorites, equality in all things is the key to success. Jealousy is an issue that shows that one person or the other is not esteeming others above themselves. Under certain conditions you can go to jail for the practice. As for sex, in my household it is heterosexual only therefore each person has their own personal time. Don't get me wrong there is a time for a family cuddle time, but that is different than sex. Most relatives don't take it very well. Yes it is hard to find African Americans who are in the practice but they are out there.
Be blessed one and all

I would like to answer some of your questions, Plural Marriage is a commitment for eternity(for me).
There can be lots of jealousy or little, it is very differrent for many people(there might not be any at the start of a marriage, and then something happens, and then anything can happen.)
It depends on the laws in your state, and how open and anoiying you are to the local laws.. hehehe
anyway thanks joining
and welcome
Carl,
