Mathematical Certainties
Addressing the theoretical and simplistic "100 men = 100 women" split
In the US, there are currently:
Married, w/children 27.90%
Married, no children 31.04%
Single, w/children 9.43%
Single, no children 30.05%
Divorced 7.64%
Separated 2.82%
Widowed 7.42%
Never Married 24.39%
Now Married 57.73%
This does not take into consideration the percentage of women and/or men who have decided to live together, those who are gay, those who are never going to get married, those who are players, swingers, celibate, whatever...
If mathematical certainties and absolutes are the name of the game, then no possible agreement on anything can be reached, because if there's one certainty in life that is absolute, it is "change". The old adage applies: "Lies, damn lies, and statistics"
Fortunately we know, from subjective observation, that not everyone thinks alike. Thank God for that.
We can spend all our time analyzing the numbers in hopes that some pattern will emerge that makes sense and stays in static perpetuity forever and ever and ever... or we can live our lives the best way we know how and share in the successes and discoveries that bring us, as individuals, joy.
"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle,
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared."
