Coffee Pot Roast

Ok this one is NOT for those who follow the Word of Wisdom but it is the most amazing pot roast ever.
Coffee Pot Roast
Take a good sized pot roast and brown it on both sides. Pour in cold left over coffee ( the stronger the better) till it comes a little over halfway up the side of the roast. Put a tight lid on the pan and put into a 325 degree oven. Cook slowly till roast is fork tender and falling apart. Remove roast from juice left over in pan and make gravy.
This recipe makes the best, richest gravy and unbelievably tender roast.
**I used to be a farm cook many years ago and this recipe always got me marriage proposals from the harvest crews. I could cook 30 pounds of roast and it would be gone in a single meal.

Breezy - wow, now that sound wonderful! I can see how the flavor of the coffee would compliment the roast - sort of like it does chocolate in mocha frosting. Thanks for sharing - gonna try this one :-)

I hope you like it. I get a lot of requests for it at family and neighborhood events.It makes even the worst beat up old piece of cow taste like an expensive cut of prime beef. Let me know how it turns out for you.
