Maybe because I was a single mom for so many years, I'd see kids who had nicer clothes, better summer vacations. Those kids had fathers, mine didn't. From the moment the Beach Boys sing "God Only Knows" and Bill Barb Margene and Nicki - a spiritual glow in their eyes from years of living "the principle" - sit at a dinner table on top of the world, literally.
I Love Big Love!
Sometimes it almost feels like the whole economy, the whole society, everything would balance out better,
If only
men who could afford it,
could have more wives.
Raise the children.
Better living through polygamy.
Dads like Bill would send all their kids to college.
Although I must admit the married moms, when I'd start to express interest in marrying their husbands, somehow did not want to remain friends with me. I should o' moved to Utah...
HBO gave a fourth season pickup to Big Love, they announced it yesterday. Big Love is the unusual family drama from Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.

Let's weigh the pros and the
Let's weigh the pros and the cons shall we. Granted I can't list everything but I think I'll make my point..........
Pros
-Husband is extremely less likely to cheat
-Family has support from all directions
-Family chores offloaded some what
-Extra income in a sister wife goes to work (BIG plus in this corrupt economy)
-Don't have to pay for babysitter or maid
-Children are looked after and kept in line do to having more adults around
-Someone you TRUST is always around to help with misc things including watching your kids
Cons
-Have to share spouse
-Someone else to deal with
-More household overhead
-Need larger house
-May have to convince wife that this is best for the family
Someone care to add, I'm drawing a blank. I can't really think of anything else.
I'm not in a plural relationship though I would love to be and by NO means is it for sexual reasons. I think it would be best because of the additional support, additional income and in my case there would be someone in the house that we trust that isn't being paid by the state to watch our children, someone I love and care for, someone we love and care for and we know will be around for an extremely long time. I'm not asking for a house hold full of women, I'm just hoping to have one more person around that will stick around through thick and thin so I can further separate myself from the state assistance and be a independent.
Follow Up
Big Love is a great show. Not sure I would like Niki as a wife or for that matter live in Utah as there are too many people looking. However it is good reflection of what I truly believe.
I think raising a family is much better when there are more involved in keeping it together. Raising children, running a household and just dealing with the things that life throws at you is much better accomplished as a team. I think that is the problem with our society today. Everything is about ME and not about the family.
Anyway, I do like the show, even though it is fiction. The drama is a bit much sometimes, but then who would watch it without it!
with today's pressures....
The enourmous pressures placed on the family units today tell me several things....
1. A husband NEEDS more than one wife.
2. Children in family benefit DIRECTLY from more than one mom in the house.
3. Wives benefit DIRECTLY from having sisterwives in the house.
Husbands have to provide for their families, generally. They need to have more help as there is more work and less spare time, now, more than ever before. They need the support of plural marriage.
Children today are less delinquent with proper supervision. Having more than one Mom in the house almost assures this.
Wives, well that is a topic I have hit on before. Today a woman is supposed to do 4 jobs, wear a cape and if she cannot fly through the air like Superman....she is considered a failure. This is unfair, unrealistic, makes her life a living HECK and is, in my opinion, the product of the feminazi movement in America. With sisterwives, the ladies can teamwork. Teamwork is EVERYTHING in the organization of the plural marriage.
Now, add living the Principle to it and the Celestial reward...well, it is OBVIOUS plural marriage makes a lot of SENSE.
Probably why our government is having trouble GRASPING it.
