Polygamy Tours

We would sure like your opinion on this one. A few weeks ago it was brought to our attention that two of the Holm brothers, raised in Colorado City, had started a tour company offering tours through CC and Hildale.

Hey I am from there and I reall dont agree with what they are doing for one thing they just need to let those people live thier lives and be at peace. I was born and raised there in hildale for 18 years and alot has changed through the years. If you want to know the truth abuot wat went wrong out there just ask me.

These kinda of tours have been going on for years in California in Hollywood, and Beverly Hills where celebrities live. I'm not surprised by this given, the popularity of shows like Big Love, and I understand that FOX is coming out with their own polygamy show in the fall.
I see this as a good thing if we ever want to get polygamy decriminalize, we have to come out for the shadows into the main stream so that others can see that were just people too.
The FLDS have made themselves into a curiosity by the bad press that has generated their leadership. I see this as an opportunity for the people of the FLDS to reverse these negative views, and opinions that the main stream has of polygamist, and of the FLDS as a whole.

Yes, Billy, the tours of famous 'hoods' have been going on. It does not seem like the Holms have the interest in bringing it out of the closet in any positive way - but more of a Carolyn Jessop Escape deal, and many of us know how accurate that is :) Here's hoping it is the other way around!

There is always two sides to every story. "If they do it with truth", one of the comments made. One can hope. Wanting to keep private and sacred the activities of a family, but being treated differrent and seen as secretive for wanting to be left alone to life and let live. But also how to show the world that it is sacred family privcy, and not secret evil. where is the line, How do you show that we are all just human beings. Not anamials, not deamons, just people that love, hate, live, die, and choose.

Any Neighborhood
Just seems to me most Americans would be somewhat irritated if "tour" were coming through your neighborhood, in buses, looking at your local church, your school, kids, etc.
I can understand it, but would hope they don't get a lot of business!
This is abusive.
This is so intrussive and rude. Just because these people practice poly they can be under the looking glass? Stared at like animals at a zoo? If they were a bunch of people practicing any other lifestyle, they would not stand for it, why would it be a positive becasue they are poly? One of the men doing tours at the end, said it would be a good thing for poly, how? Warren is not poly.. he's abuse. These tours are focused on the big news stories and are trying to feed from it. They don't have any good intent here, the intent is to fatten their wallets. They are lucky these tours are not in my neighborhood, it would be their last!
Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it.
Just pee on it and walk away!
